is a recently formed band of musicians mainly based in East Clare who share a love of jazz Catherine Patience, vocalist, is reviving an early interest in jazz and was introduced to Lucy Thomas on clarinet and Yam Aquino on drums when they recently moved to Whitegate, all the way from Shanghai, where they made and taught music for almost fourteen years. Local writers read their own work in association with Mountshannon Arts. Presented by Roisin Bugler.
After a long life well lived Wiltrud Dull remembers her late father in a touching piece ‘New Shoes’.
Patricia Donnellan recalls a character from her childhood known to her only as ‘The Man’ and the tender kindness shown to him by her mother.
Barbara Hartigan takes pity on a stranger, pays it forward and experiences ‘Karma in Supervalu’.
In the quiet aloneness of the early morning Anthony Lenihan is alerted by a cuckoo call that reminds him that we are here and we matter' in 'Fitting the Bill'.
Even though this is the fallow end of the year Patricia Anne Moore looks ahead and finds time and space for ‘Planting’.
And in this era of fast fashion and disposability Arthur Watson paints a wonderful picture of a neighbour from a different time, Paddy ‘Patch’ who knew the value of a ‘Self Mend’.
With music from Zoe Conway and John McIntyre, Caoivín and Síomha.
